Dr. Rob Coleman

Managing Director and CEO

Rob has over 27 years global experience in growing businesses and joined Core in 2018 as CEO. Leadership and strategy experience spans General Management, Sales and Business Development, Consulting, Technology Design and Development, Commercialisation and Research Project Management. Rob holds a PhD in Mineral Processing and a Masters of Business Administration and his specialist knowledge spans all areas of Mineral Processing focussing on Flotation.

David Cavanagh

GM Projects and Engineering

David, a highly motivated Technical Manager, brings over 27 years’ experience in minerals industry operations, engineering, and new technology development. He’s proficient in project life-cycle phases: concept development, design, implementation, commissioning, and operations. David holds a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering and a Master of Business and Technology, driving results with expertise and vigor.

Samuel Hordern

GM Laboratory Operations

Samuel has over 12 years of laboratory test work and management experience and joined Core in 2011. Operations experience encompasses metallurgical testing, pilot plant operations, site support and general laboratory management. Samuel holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical) and effectively utilises lean management principles to sustain efficient laboratory operations.

Peter Kunst

Albion Process and Principal Project Manager

For 25 years, Peter focused on hydrometallurgy processes in minerals processing. Joining Core Resources in 2006, he delved into various commodities: copper, cobalt, nickel, zinc, gold, silver, scandium, and vanadium. Currently, as Core’s Albion Process™ Manager, he’s pivotal in developing leaching technologies like Albion Process™ for refractory sulphide concentrates and Toowong Process for selective arsenic recovery from copper concentrates.

Peter Rohner

Peter Rohner, with 35+ years in mining, commands respect for his global leadership in mineral processing. He’s held diverse roles like Concentrator Manager, Commissioning Manager, and Technical Superintendent. In corporate spheres, he’s guided pre-feasibility studies and led technology commercialization. His expertise spans mineral processing and extractive metallurgy, primarily in copper, lead, zinc, gold, and silver.

Rod Ventura

With 35+ years in minerals processing globally, Rod specializes in gravity separation, flotation, and leaching of precious and base metals. As a co-inventor of the Albion Process™ Technology, he holds vast expertise in its entirety. Rod’s operational proficiency includes global commissioning in gold, copper, lead, and zinc operations. Furthermore, he possesses broad skills in process engineering, flowsheet development, and plant design.

Lachlan MacDonald

Lachlan, Toowong ProcessTM Technology’s Lead Process Engineer and Technology Manager, boasts 16+ years in study, project management, and process engineering across various commodities. With a focus on technology development, he spearheaded the Toowong Process from conceptualization through feasibility, engineering, to commercialization, showcasing his expertise in innovation and project leadership.

Carla Kaboth

Carla has over 25 years’ experience in metallurgical testing, plant design and processing of a wide range of commodities.  She has extensive experience with base metal flotation and processing of gold ores. Carla specialises in working with clients to identify the best process solution for their project and taking this through to the plant design phase. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Mineral Processing from the University of Queensland.

Dr. Maedeh Tayebi-Khorami

Maedeh, holding a PhD and M.Sc. in mineral processing (flotation) and a B.Sc. in mining engineering, boasts 14+ years’ experience. Specializing in base metals beneficiation, she excels as a process engineer across project phases, demonstrating expertise in flotation, particularly in modeling, simulation, surface chemistry, and process mineralogy, within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Dylan Molver

Dylan is a Senior process engineer with over 8 years’ experience in both the mining and wastewater sectors. Dylan manages the ion exchange technology programmes at Core and is a key member of the Toowong Process team with expertise across arsenic and antimony hydrometallurgy. Dylan is also adept at METSIM, with steady state modelling an integral part of the engineering studies Core executes.

Danielle Bell

With over a decade in minerals processing, Danielle excels in base metal concentrators. Her roles encompass production, planning, and project metallurgy, with proficiency in flowsheet development, test work management, pilot plants, and commissioning. She’s passionate about process optimization, leveraging innovative, cost-effective technologies to enhance performance and reduce costs, delivering optimal solutions to clients.

Dr. David Hunter

David, a Senior Metallurgist at Core since 2023, holds a Chemical Engineering PhD from the University of Newcastle, focusing on gravity separation and physical beneficiation. With experience in academia and industry, he’s adept in mineral processing, hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, and mine water treatment. David’s passion lies in developing sustainable processes for critical minerals to bolster the energy transition.

Dr. Di Liu

Di, with a PhD in Mineral Processing, specializes in research, technology development, and mining applications. As a metallurgist/process engineer at Core, she directs projects for mining firms, emphasizing base metal flotation, gold ore processing, and hydrometallurgy. Previously, she innovated solutions for acid mine drainage management and tailings dewatering. Di is dedicated to advancing technologies for sustainable mining practices amidst complex ore bodies.

Jennifer Truong

Jennifer is a process engineer with over 7 years’ of experience within the industry. At Core, she has had a focus on leaching technologies, and is a key member of both the Albion Process™ and Toowong Process™ teams. She holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering, complemented by a Bachelor of Science majoring in Earth Science from the University of Queensland. Passionate about innovation and sustainability, Jennifer is committed to driving positive change through her engineering insights and analytical approach.

James McMaster

James has a Bachelor of Engineering with majors in Chemical and Metallurgical engineering from UQ and over 7 years’ experience in metallurgy. He started out as a technician in fundamental pyrometallurgical research, producing thermodynamic data for use in modelling programs. As a metallurgist he has managed day to day operations in a base metal sulphide concentrator, as well as conducting on site testwork for new ore types and alternative reagent identification.
