The program, conducted at our metallurgical testing laboratory in Brisbane, focused on flotation concentrate samples from the Youanmi orebody. Our team executed a series of Albion oxidative leaching tests that delivered outstanding results, confirming the potential for high gold recoveries using a conventional flowsheet.
Key outcomes from the testwork include:
- The Albion Process™ achieved gold recoveries of 94.0% and 95.8% from flotation concentrates Overall plant recoveries of 90–92% projected following leaching of flotation tails
- Confirmation that ultrafine grind sizes of 10–12 μm are effective in maximising gold liberation while optimising sulphur oxidation requirements
- Partial oxidation of sulphides produces heat and ferric acid naturally, enabling efficient open-air leach tanks without compromising process stability
These results confirm the suitability of Youanmi’s sulphide mineralisation for the Albion oxidative leach process and mark solid progress in the project’s metallurgical development ahead of the Definitive Feasibility Study, scheduled for November 2025. Ongoing testwork will further optimise grind size and sulphur oxidation levels, ensuring robust plant performance.
