Toowong Process is a top 5 Finalist in the Australian Innovation Challenge

The Toowong Process, developed by Core, has been listed as a finalist in the Australian Innovation Challenge.  The awards, now in their fifth year, are run by The Australian newspaper in association with Shell, with the support of the federal Department of Industry, Innovation and Science. The Challenge showcases innovation from around the country and across industry.  We are thrilled the Toowong Process has been selected as a finalist (top 5) in the 2015 challenge in the Minerals and Energy category.

The Toowong Process is a new technology for addressing the globally significant issue of arsenic in mine products.  Currently many mines have no option but to ship arsenic-bearing concentrates to smelters, often on the other side of the world, and incur the associated penalties.  The Toowong Process is a new leach technology, developed by the team at Core Resources, that enables operations to remove arsenic at the mine site prior to shipping the cleaned concentrate.  The arsenic is rendered stable, non-toxic, and fit for disposal. The benefits, both to the operations and to the global environment, are enormous.

Core is currently seeking commercialisation / development partners to enable the roll-out of the Toowong process to industry.
