Core Resources announces partnership with Magotteaux for grinding optimisation testwork

Core Resources Pty Ltd is pleased to announce a new partnership with Magotteaux to support commercial metallurgical testing globally using Magotteaux’s advanced grinding optimisation technologies.

Through this collaboration, Core Resources will deliver specialised comminution testwork using the MagoMill, a laboratory grinding system designed to replicate plant grinding conditions and investigate the impact of grinding chemistry on downstream metallurgical performance.

Grinding is one of the most energy-intensive stages of mineral processing, and the conditions within the grinding circuit can have a significant influence on mineral liberation, pulp chemistry and downstream recovery processes such as flotation. The MagoMill allows controlled laboratory testing that reproduces plant grinding conditions, enabling metallurgists to better understand how grinding parameters influence metallurgical outcomes.

Using this technology, Core Resources can provide targeted testwork programs that generate valuable data to support process optimisation and flowsheet development.

Testwork outputs may include:

• Assessment of grinding chemistry impacts on flotation performance
• Evaluation of grinding media interactions with mineral surfaces
• Particle size distribution (PSD) and mineral liberation analysis
• Optimisation insights for comminution and downstream separation circuits

By combining Magotteaux’s expertise in grinding optimisation with Core Resources’ metallurgical laboratory and pilot-scale testing capabilities, this partnership will provide mining companies with an improved understanding of the relationship between comminution performance and metallurgical recovery.

Dr Rob Coleman, Managing Director and CEO of Core Resources, said the partnership strengthens Core’s capability to deliver advanced metallurgical testing services. “Partnering with Magotteaux allows us to expand our metallurgical testing capabilities and provide clients with deeper insights into grinding performance and its impact on downstream processing.

Grant Small, Manager Metallurgy – Development at Magotteaux, said the collaboration brings together complementary expertise. “We’re pleased to partner with Core Resources to extend the availability of our grinding optimisation technology to more mining projects, and to offer our customers an expanded range of technical support solutions for process optimisation.

The collaboration further strengthens Core Resources’ capability to deliver specialised metallurgical testwork that supports improved process understanding and more effective mineral processing solutions for mining projects.
