Glencore Technology has launched a free online calculator for the Albion Process™, providing a simple, no-risk tool for assessing whether the process is suitable for treating sulphide ores, complex ores or refractory gold. The calculator offers indicative estimates of capital expenditure (CapEx), operating expenditure (OpEx), and a high-level equipment list, helping users explore early-stage project feasibility quickly and easily.
The Albion Process™, developed by Glencore and Core Resources, is a proven atmospheric oxidative leaching technology that uses a combination of ultrafine grinding and oxidative leaching at atmospheric pressure. It provides a safer, more cost-effective alternative to pressure oxidation and roasting, delivering high metal recoveries. The process achieves up to 97% recovery for refractory gold and over 99% for chalcopyrite copper concentrates
