GeoProMining has now Entered into a Collaboration with Glencore

GPM Gold has reaffirmed the success of the Albion Process™ at its Armenian gold project, demonstrating the process’s reliability and effectiveness in treating refractory ores. Developed by Glencore Technology and fully supported by Core Resources, the Albion Process™ has enabled GPM to unlock significant gold value from ore previously considered difficult to treat using conventional methods.

Since commissioning in mid-2014, the Albion Process™ plant at GPM has consistently delivered strong gold recovery results. By 2017, GPM reported that the plant was operating reliably at nameplate throughput and recovery, achieving recovery rates in the range of 95% to 97% for gold. These results mark a significant increase over historical recovery rates from conventional oxidation and cyanidation.

The Albion Process™ is a low-cost, energy-efficient oxidative leaching technology suited to processing refractory gold and base metals. It enables operations to oxidise sulphide minerals, making valuable metals such as gold, copper, zinc and lead more accessible for extraction. It has particular relevance for projects dealing with complex ores or where pressure oxidation and roasting are not viable options.

Core Resources plays a central role in supporting clients who wish to assess and adopt the Albion Process™, offering metallurgical testing services, pilot plant campaigns and process engineering design tailored to each project. Core operates the only licensed Albion Process™ test facility in Australia, making it a key delivery partner for projects across Asia-Pacific and beyond.

With more than a decade of experience applying the technology, Core is helping operations globally achieve higher metal recovery, reduced environmental impact and improved economic returns – especially in projects involving refractory gold, base metals and critical minerals.
