On Wednesday, 19th July, the Minister for State Development and Minister for Natural Resources and Mines, the Honourable Dr Anthony Lynham, visited Core Resources’ facilities to announce a groundbreaking 10-year action plan for Queensland’s Mining Equipment, Technology and Services (METS) sector.
The plan aims to transform Queensland’s $7 billion METS sector into a global leader in developing commercially valuable solutions for the energy and resources industry worldwide. The Queensland Government’s roadmap outlines a series of initiatives designed to boost the sector’s global competitiveness and foster growth in mining technology. These initiatives include:
- Simplifying the path for companies to turn their ideas into market-ready commercial products.
- Increasing collaboration between researchers, miners, and METS companies to address industry challenges.
- Upgrading the capability of METS companies in areas such as innovation, business management, and marketing.
Core Resources is proud to be one of the many Queensland companies contributing to the development of this action plan and looks forward to the opportunities it will bring for the industry.
Peter Rohner, Core’s Technical Director, spoke about the visit, saying, “Core has invested heavily in developing and commercialising innovative process technologies, and we are honoured to host the Minister as he announces government support for this type of work in the mining sector.”
